QuestionHow long does a fully charged battery last recording?

- Answer if you want it to record 24/7 it won't last more than a few days at best... you'd want to plug it into a power supply for that and it could go indefinitely i believe. The batteries work best as a triggered system that records only when motion is detected and shutting down after the event has passed... and probably best in an area that isn't supposed to be getting much traffic.

- Answer Yes, the camera is cordless/wireless. It has rechargeable batteries and you can choose to have it plugged in or not, but you will want to use this system wireless. That is one of the advantages of this system. And there are options to add additional services, but the system does not require any paid subscriptions or any monthly payments to provide a great security system.

- Answer This Arlo camera has come is SO handy for keeping an eye on my dogs while I’m out! I just went to my Library on the Arlo App from my iPhone and was able to easily download something that was recorded yesterday. It automatically saved to my iPhone Photos (even though it is the full video clip). The Arlo App automatically saves the past 7 days on a rotating basis, so if you want to download something to save permanently, just be sure to do it before the 7th day. You can pay for extended days, but if you can save it yourself, why pay that monthly fee, right? :) I don’t have an Alexa or Apple TV, etc.

QuestionI have read two different things, do the cameras connect wirelessly to the BASE that comes with the system, or do they connect to your WIFI network? If it is the BASE what is the approximate range? Need about 100 ft from house, 150' from current router

- Answer You must connect the Arlo camera base station to your local network router via Ethernet.. The Arlo cameras communicate to their associated base station wirelessly. How far you can get from the base depends on many factors including where the base station is in the house (the base station is not for use outdoors).. You may want to start with one camera with one base setup, do a test, and then return if it does not meet your needs. You will also get a better idea of if the camera’s field of vision and motion detection range meet your needs. Note also the further the camera is away from the base may adversely impact camera battery life due to diminished signal between the base and camera. As a side note the Arlo lights are different. The Arlo light base station is connected wirelessly to your home’s network and communicates to the individual lights via bluetooth. Arlo lights can trigger Arlo cameras and the reverse, but that is handled within settings you make in the Arlo network via the app. I have multiple generations of the Arlo cameras/base stations with many cameras. I also have the lights. If you have the right expectations and benefit from the total wire free aspects of the cameras and the lights they are great products, BUT you should not be comparing them to a professionally installed high resolution security camera system that has panning and zoom, continuous recording, etc. As long as your expectations match the real features of the Arlo products AND you don’t mind “ladder work” when it is time to change the batteries (unless you add the solar panels) you will find they are useful and in many ways remarkable for what they are able to do.

- Answer This really depends on your home wifi router. This hub is piggy backing off of that connection so if you cant get internet out side where your mounting this than the camera is going to struggle to keep a solid connection. Router speeds need to be around 8-10mb/s to load and stream

- Answer Yes, as long as you turn the sound settings on, which is typically done through the Arlo App. I find that it captures excellent sound and video. I had a bumble bee come right up to it the other day - - investigating what it was for 5-6 seconds...hovering and buzzing . The sight and sound of that event displayed on the big screen was very cool.

- Answer I have an add-on camera that I placed 435' from the router and it works great. That being said the camera is a direct shot from where the router is set up in my house. My other cameras are installed much further than 25' from the base and also work well. I will attach two photos so that you can see how far the camera at the end of my driveway is from my house.

- Answer The system comes with four magnetic wall mounts, and one mounting arm. I would recommend purchasing extra mounts for outdoors. It t really depends on where and how you have to mount it. I used one of the basics dome magnetic mounts outside and the one articulating mount and then purchased two additional mounts for the outdoors. Allowed me to aim the camera better

- Answer Yes, you can turn the cameras off or on individually right from your computer based Arlo Control Center - You go to each individual camera and click on "turn ON" or "turn OFF" Or you can go to the same control panel and select system status and turn them all on or all off -"Active" is on. Orrrr you can also have them on a set time period, for example you can have the system automatically go "active" from 9 am to 6 pm etc... Lots of options, there is NOT an ON or OFF button on the camera itself and that's a good thing. You don't want a perp to simply turn it off as you want that data to go directly to the station for as long as possible.

- Answer It connects to your WiFi so it will be dependent on your upload speed to remotely view. If you can face-time or video call with no issues it should work. If your video calls are choppy on the other end, it will probably also be choppy. Maybe a user with satellite can weigh in, I do know latency is sky high on satellite.

- Answer Yes, simply add them (add camera) to the pro 2 system. I am using 2 original arlo cameras with one of my Pro 2 systems.
