QuestionI need a camera that triggers to begin recording when a dog begins barking and continues recording until the barking stops, with time and date of each recording. Can this system do that, or can it only be triggered by motion?

QuestionI know some of the other systems come with a battery back up on the DVR so if the power goes out on your house it will continue to capture video does the Arlo pro 2 offer the same attribute

- Answer The base station does not have a battery inside. If it did, you still would not get a video out if your power went out, because your router would not have power. You can purchase an uninterruptible power supply and hook up your router, cable modem, and base station to it. That way if the power goes out in your house, you still have power to all the components that need to be working to get the video out.

- Answer You can have the cameras added to the same account and monitor them in one Arlo app. The only thing you need to check is your Arlo Smart Plan. Please ensure that it will support the total number of cameras that you will have. ^RM

- Answer The cameras transmit to the base station. You can install a usb device such as a USB drive to locally store data but you will need Wi-Fi to view data from the Arlo app remotely.

- Answer Yes, You have to pick the solar panel that matches the camera. I have two Arlo solar panels (one for each camera). In just a few hours of sun each day the cameras are charged to 100%. My location has lots of south facing exposure.

- Answer It depends on what subscription you have. Here is a link to Arlo's plan page: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/landing/arlosmart/default.aspx I bought the six camera Pro 2 1080 and added a camera. I subscribed to the Arlo Smart Premier Plan for $9.99/month and can have up to ten cameras. There is a free plan but I wanted the feature to call 911 right from the Arlo app so opted for the reasonable monthly rate. You can do a lot of customization with the six cameras so you might not even need to add cameras. I've got six cameras covering the entire exterior of a 4000 sf house. The seventh camera is outside my gate and monitors my driveway and the road in front of my property. The Arlo router is great. I used Best Buy's installation service, which was well worth the $150 fee.

- Answer I was told by Best Buy that the base is necessary and even a bridge was required to get the signal which was 60 feet away. But then one woders how many similar bases and bridges will be required if you want to turn your home into a smart one.
