The camera housing snaps out of the wall mount by pressing a button. You bring the entire unit in for charging. It is a very simple method.

It does have a battery that is removable. As far as functionality, it connects wirelessly with an Arlo Hub. We already had a Hub and a couple of cameras. We bought the floodlight cam for our driveway. We added the floodlight camera to that existing system. You can view live video or recordings via the Arlo app.
