“I have a question! Can I use the digital and the mechanical chime at the same time? I connect my existing mechanical chime but I want to get the digital too...will both work at the same time? And do I keep the switch on 1 or 2 position ?”

Can't uuse them at the same time unless you have 2 different chimes units..

I did not configure my doorbell to use the existing chime, so I passed this question to the doorbell group. Their response was the Arlo chime can be used at the same time as the existing doorbell chime. You should not have to change the switch to use the Arlo chime.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe you can use both at same time because during setup you must choose between existing chime or arlo purchased chime. switch is 1 for digital chime and 2 for mechanical chime if you choose to use existing chime.

Please try again later.This is what their booklet says: "Connect your Arlo doorbell to trigger your existing chime (Optional) You can connect your Arlo doorbell to existing mechanical or electronic doorbells if they operate at a voltage between 8 and 24 volts AC. After you connect your doorbell, press the button on your Arlo doorbell to trigger your existing chime." Switch position 1 is for a digital chime. Switch position 2 is for a mechanical chime. The existing doorbell wiring can be wired into the Arlo doorbell. Hopefully this is of some help. Instructions with the doorbell unit are pretty self explanatory.
