A:AnswerI believe 7 ft is the recommended height for the cameras, angled downwards. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor as well, I suggest trying that.
A:AnswerI am not certain if the base station is needed, but I would imagine so since all of the cameras are wirelessly connected to the one base station. So my answer to the first part of your question would be, yes you need a base station. The app itself is free of charge to download and use. I would imagine that if you opt for premium services, there may be costs included with those premium services. As it stands, basic service is completely free.
A:Answerno! they are compatable with their OWN base station. DO NOT BOTHER. I was robbed twice and not one captured video. I trip them every time I walk by them, but the purpose for what they are intended for? NOTHING! these cameras are bogus and a waste of your hard earned money. Support is condensending at best. As for geek sqwad? forget about it. What are they protecting? NOBODY will even get back to me on the problem. DONT BOTHER with these cameras, (or geek sqwad protection for that matter)
A:AnswerHere is an excerpt from Livewire regarding Wi-Fi range. Hope it is helpful.
A general rule of thumb in home networking says that WiFi routers operating on the traditional 2.4 GHz band reach up to 150 feet (46 m) indoors and 300 feet (92 m) outdoors. Older 802.11a routers that ran on 5 GHz bands reached approximately one-third of these distances. Newer 802.11n and 802.11ac routers that operate on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands vary in the reach similarly.
Physical obstructions in homes such as brick walls and metal frames or siding reduce the range of a WiFi network by 25% or more. Due to laws of physics, 5 GHz WiFi connections are more susceptible to obstructions than are 2.4 GHz.
Radio signal interference from microwave ovens and other equipment also negatively affects WiFi network range.
A:AnswerThis system sends u notification if something is in camera showing movement. Doesn't use MG. If u want to look at the app and see all of the moments it saved of movement then u do that.
A:Answerthe base station plugs into the wifi system. Don't have the answer of 'WHY". That is the only wired part of it. Other "wireless" systems have a monitor that is wireless, but not the cameras. this system is nothing more than a nanny cam or baby monitor, not great for security. I was ripped off for 10k worth of product and NOT ONE PICTURE CAPTURE. the thief hacked into the system and erased all of his photos. If you get this system, be sure to CHANGE the default password. It's no guarantee, but a bit harder to hack into. I have been extremely disappointed in this system, I do NOT recommend it. Right now I feel so violated, a condition I was trying to avoid. Not to mention 6 months of HARD WORK pollinating for new seed stock is gone forever. The 6 plants he got that had approx 4 lbs of tops each plant, 15-17 inches long. So much for my medicine for this year. No tinctures or edibles this year. Not to mention the cost of the grow. These cameras cost me allot of money. Hoping since I have geek squad they will take them back, but I doubt it. BB has a pretty poor return policy.
A:AnswerCall Arlo customer support. They will work with you. I had trouble too and had to reset the router several times and re-watch the video setup guide (wherein the woman talks too fast).
