How long do the batteries last? Looking to mount this device outside. I see it is battery powered. How long do the batteries last? Also, can it be hard-wired to an existing electrical source (light pole, etc)?

I have had the system for 3 months and am on the same batteries doing optimized video and 20 second recordings when motion is detected. They claim to last 4 months. They hold 4 batteries and are not expensive. I found 12 replacement batteries on Amazon for 25 bucks. No they cannot be hard wired. This is strictly a wireless battery powered system.

Batteries last several months with normal use. There is no way to hard wire to electrical, so batteries only on this device.

It depends on how much motion it senses (even when disarmed). In places where there's little motion the batteries last several months. In areas with lots of motion (such as my back porch where I'm passing in front of it many times a day), only a few weeks.
