The GTX 1050 Max-Q 2GB is a pretty weak chip. Its decent, but a lower end gaming card nonetheless. It can handle today's titles at 1080 on high-medium to medium settings. 4k gaming will not be fluently playable at nearly any quality setting. the nVidia control panel comes preconfigured for power savings, so you'll want to turn that to 'prefer max performance' first and optimize texture filtering and quality settings for performance.
