• I called representatives from both best buy and Asus, both confirmed that this laptop has 8GB soldered ram and 8gb removable. Honestly it kind of ruins the laptop at this price point

• Yes, this model comes in a single channel configuration with 16GB soldered on and a second free RAM slot. I would recommend a second 16GB stick to get a 32GB dual channel configuration.
