The Strix brings per-key RGB, robust cooling, aggressive aesthetics like clear plastic and sci-fi trims, added lights, 300hz FHD configurations that sacrifice color accuracy, and more control over internal components like RAM and Storage expansion. That means the Strix is pure performance, with plenty of flash. The G15 brings Apple like polish and refinement while packing in enthusiast level performance. The speakers, screen, keyboard, trackpad, chassis and internals are top notch, but understated. It's all tied together with long battery life in a small package. I'd prefer to go under the radar when bringing a laptop out in public or to a business meeting, but I don't want a typical 'business' laptop.

I decided to answer this because the other two answers, while being good enough, weren't entirely accurate. I know because I personally bought this exact laptop over the top of the line Scar. And I did my homework. There is a SKU of this model that does come with a 3080 for about $2,000 US, only a small amount more realistically speaking. Personally if that's what you're going for and you have the budget for it the Scar will potentially provide a better experience. I actually had a $5,000 US budget, not a common scenario I know but this was the money I had set aside for a full desktop build. Obviously I decided that can't happen right now given availability issues. That being said, if you have the $2,600 US to blow on it, the difference the Scar offers is a fully addressable RGB keyboard, and better IO boasting more ports in general (this laptop only has two USB A and two USB C). It also sports a pretty clever 10key that is accessed and visible through backlighting on the touchpad. They both utilize the same motherboard, cooling layout, chassis material, display panels, SSD, Dimms, nearly everything. The Scar is just the step up model of the Zephyrus. It is a thicker laptop but there's a misconception here about why, it's literally to fit the better IO and that is ALL. It, as well as any other 3070-3080 SKU of either model, has EXACTLY the same cooling layout and hardware. My main consideration for the Scar was that it has a display port, where the Zephyrus only has an HDMI that routes through the IGPU. I primarily wanted this because I play a lot of VR. The reason I picked this unit over the Scar despite definately being over funded for either: Since they share the same cooling layout, the 3070 performs flawlessly never hitting thermal throttle as this cooling method is maybe even a touch more than it needs. But the 3080 is a much more demanding card and puts out more heat, the cooling system cannot keep up with it. It performs about 20-25% better than this one, for about 5-10 minutes. Then it throttles, and you can expect to consistently hover at about 5-10% better performance than the more affordable Zephyrus from that point forward until you close what you're doing and let it cool off for another 5-10 minute spike. At the end of the day, this model (GA503QR) is the sweet spot for price to performance expectation. On panel options you have a choice to make. There is a 1080p panel that boasts a buttery smooth 300hz refresh rate, good if you play low spec or highly competitive titles. And then there's the 1440p panel with a 165hz refresh, which is the model I found to fit my needs the best. It's clearly a middle ground between the other two, not much else to say here. And lastly there's the 4k option with a 240hz refresh. Frankly I wouldn't recommend this one at all unless you explicitly need it for software that needs the resolution (video editing, photoshop, content creation). These mobile GPU's can't push that kind of resolution at respectable frame rates like their desktop counterparts can. The only way you'll ever even get anything out of the 240hz refresh rate is if you lower the resolution anyways. Kinda defeats the purpose. Oh almost forgot to mention, a little obvious perhaps but the Scar does add a RGB strip that wraps around the front of the case, and the logo on the lid is also RGB. And I'd be lying to you if I claimed that wasn't making my decision more difficult lol.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Zephyrus line is a little more upscale in design with magnesium alloy for the chassis and no bling bling keyboard. This is line is analogous for the Apple iMac laptops. Powerful and a nice design for a moderate price. The Strix line is made for gamers. Lower res screen but with a higher refresh. Another difference is that the Strix line uses the higher power mobile RTX 30XX gpus (e.g. Old Max-Q vs Max-P). Strix laptops have more robust cooling that the Zephyrus line to support higher power GPUs. I'm not positive about this fact, but I think the regular Strix G15 (2021) lineup is made up of only AMD mobile CPUs (Zen3). The high end of the Strix line is the Strix SCAR series with the mobile AMD and Intel and mobile GTX 3060-80 chips.
