You should see close to wan router speed on a lan connection if no other traffic is on the line. Here are some things to check. 1. Dont use speedtest.net because it chooses a server to test with and that server may limit your speed. Try fast.com instead or try to select a different server is speedtest.net. 2. Make sure you have QOS turned off on the router. This may be limiting the speed. Its under the Settings in the app. Also in the upper right hand corner of the app's home page make sure you havent prioritized/profiled your traffic by hitting the speed icon. 3. Hopefully you have tried to use a different cable and different port and different laptop to validate it isnt one of these. 4. I have no idea how long your run is to the router but you might want to do the same test using a short cable next to the router to rule that out. 5. Look at the traffic analyzer under Settings > Diagnostics > Traffic Statistics and verify that there isnt something else using up lots of bandwidth when you are not testing. I am able to get near wan speed on my pc and that is through two switches and about 100 ft. of cat 6. Good luck and I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Got it figured out. I first tried running a cat6 cable from router directly to pc, no change. Well my old friend TCP optimizer saved the day!! Switched it from normal to optimal and now I am seeing wan speeds (945mbps) or within 100mbps. Should have known it was my pc but never had this much bandwidth so I never had any problems. Thanks for the help and info, I appreciate it!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try swapping the cable or port? See if the problem moves with the change.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your help. I do have Qos shut off, with it on I only see half my wan speed at the router. I am only running about 25' of cat6 cable running through two Netgear JGS524Na switches. I tried bypassing one of them but no difference. Next step will be making a cat6 cable to run from router to pc and see if that helps. Thanks again!
