Yes, but make sure you invest in a modem as well. You can also use this router to prioritize bandwidth for specific devices . It also has easy port forwarding capabilities for most major gaming titles

Depending on what configuration you have for your internal network, it may improve stability within your home. Since you are already using an ethernet cable, you likely wouldn't see substantial improvement.
