• You can go to a 32GB SO-DIMM. I did it and it reports all 40 GB are there. No problems.

• Okay, so I bought the laptop. You can install the 32gb Ram. However, it is only able to utilize up to 26gb of ram after several memory test. So if you want it to say 40 but only run 24 max buy the 32 stick. Or save some money and buy the 16gb Ram

• I put in a 32GB SODIMM and it works great. Don't know why anybody says the max is a 16GB upgrade. I get the full reported 40GB after the upgrade.

• Similar to the two customers below, I installed a Vengeance DDR 5 4800 32GB SODIMM, and the system reported and utilizes all 40 GB. There is an RF shield / heat spreader that covers the module, but it can be easily popped off with a plastic implement. No need to remove any internal screws.

• There is a metal shielding that is covering the removable 8 GB of SO-DIMM DDR 5 ram. Once this is removed, you can expand this with an additional 16 GB of ram.
