• The phone has a light up LCD screen that comes on when you take the phone off the hook. That way you can see the text on the screen even when it's dark.

• Yes back light and text is actually navy color. Very nice phone, clarity and lightweight. Definitely great investment, had a Panasonic that cannot compare to this phone.
