It depends on the vehicle and model. Most cars have aftermarket harnesses readily available for purchase. It depends on the year ,make and model of your vehicle.

it is not plug and play with factory head unit you will need to tap into the factory speaker wiring

You most def have to tap into wires. But they sell things such as quick splice connects that make your life a lot easier. Good luck.
