Because a sucker is born every minute. The thing about digital instead of analog is that everything is more of a 0 or 1, Yes or No question with the signal. If you have an HDMI cable with decent connectors that is working, it should be fine. Any difference in signal between a cheap HDMI cable and an $80 cable would likely only be detectable with high-end test gear. Save your money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It boils down to how the surface of the wire is. Since it has silver which is a better conductor than copper you have a cleaner signal which can be detected in the lab with quality equipment. The signal travels on the surface of the wire. Depends on what equipment you have you may or may not be able too see a difference

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No cable can ever improve the signal it carries - it can only make improvements by introducing less distortion into the system and doing less harm to the signal. The less distortion, the better. The best cable, therefore, is the one that introduces the least distortion and affects the signal as little as possible. And this is true for all cables. And the further up the line you go, the better it gets. AudioQuest HDMI cables use very high quality solid conductors, very high quality insulation materials and very high quality connectors to ensure that the cables provide the best performance possible.
