• Yes, you can. I used to turn and off the lights in the house to freak out my boyfriend when I would travel. A very fun game.

• Yes, you can! As long as you have enabled "Remote Access" for the Wemo Switches, and have internet access on your mobile device.

• It should work from anywhere your phone which has the app has a decent connection.

• I would think it works if you have connection to the internet on the device that has the app. Haven't tried it from that far yet so can't tell you for certain.
