• If your garage to is plugged into an electric outlet, then use the Belkin switch between your power plug and the garage door connector. Otherwise I would not use this Beling switch.

• I tried it on my garage door opener and the answer is no. It turned the light on and supplied power to the operator but it takes the RF signal to operate the motor.

• I don't think so, it can only be used to turn on / off the power flowing through the WeMo device, not the actual functions of what you have plugged in.

• No, they actually have a similar product to wemo thats only designed for that. Do a google search.
