Yes...I use filters to decrease the soling of the pot cup

it has a reuseable filter , use rinse and clean , there no reason for paper filter unless something goes wrong some how with the reuseable filter .

I tried using small filters and it did not work very good. They will fold inward and impeded the flow of water. This was tried because I did not like the powdery fine grains of coffee beans in the bottom of my coffee cup.
