Yes, the “brew/complete” valve does control the flow to adjust the strength of the coffee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just guessing here, but I believe it's the dial that shows "Brew" and "Brew Completed." If you hold this permanent filter over the sink and pour water in it, you'll see that it controls the drip. The grind of your coffee will also make a difference. I almost returned this just for that reason because the drip was too fast on "Brew" - - -poor manual. Hope this helps.

Please try again later.The valve at the base of the filter cone only shows “brew” and “pause” but you adjust it for any point in between to control the duration of contact between the coffee grinds and the hot water. I’ve only used mine a few times but I’ve found a good position to give me the coffee strength that I like,
