• I actually purchased the cable for the exact same scenario. After attempting to feed and HDMI Output into a DisplayPort Input, it did not work. It would seem that the cable is mono-directional, with the feed coming from the DisplayPort device and pushed to an HDMI TV/Monitor.

• It will NOT work, do not listen to other comments. You need a HDMI to DisplayPort. This one is a one way signal from display port to a HDMI display. Make sure you read the description. They make hubs that are great for this.
