“Is this an "active" display port to HDMI adapter as opposed to " passive "? I have a MBP M1 and and it does not natively support 2 external monitors-only one. Caldigit recommends an active pater to a passive.”

MacBook Pro doesn't have a DisplayPort, this adapter will not work for you.
