“Will this mount in sheetrock without studs? My stud is in the center of where I want to mount and the two studs on either side are outside of the area that the wall mount reaches.”

I would not recommend it. Maybe if you have a smaller tv but even then it’s not a good idea because once fully extended there is a substantial amount of weight hanging. Safety first
