• I belive the part that detaches from the vacuum is light enough where it is not needed to be left at the bottom of the stairs it is light enough for anyone to hold on to it as you reach the end of which ever way you started your stairs.

• The lift off pod is extremely lightweight and shouldn’t be any problem whatsoever. I don’t know that hose will necessarily stretch 14 stairs, but I don’t think many full size vacuums would. It does have the long lift off handle which is used with the lift off pod. In my opinion it would work well and actually be perfect for stairs.
