Our 6 y/o shark wasn't cutting it anymore and we landed on this as a replacement. We have 2 kids,
a German Shepherd, and 2 dachshunds so a vacuum is a must. Out of the box took about 50 seconds to put together. We had recently vacuumed and used a rug doctor on the carpets and rugs but wanted to see what it could do. This thing found dirt we didnt know existed. The first dirty canister picture was from just 2 rugs and the second was just our bedroom. Suction power was similar to our $260 shark. Would recommend to anyone with pets looking for a vacuum.
Pros:
-Versatile. Bare floors, low carpet, high carpet... does it all
- Attachments connect to the side so you're not rummaging through a cabinet looking for it. The upholstery tool is a bonus
- Cord length allowed me to do entire living room and kitchen which stretch the entire depth of our house.
- It sucks! It would've taken a rug with it if the mouth was wide enough
- Easy to use. Buttons are placed for ease of access. Hose detaches easily to use on furiture.
-Turning radius isnt outstanding, but it competes with some of the higher tier vacuums.
- Bright lights on the front help pinpointing the dirt/ hair so you don't miss anything.
- Hose is see through and when removed is completely straight so if it were to ever clog, we could see where and easily push something through to remove it
Cons:
- Hose length could be a little longer, but it does stretch. Just hang on to the liftaway, otherwise it'll be tipping over every chance it gets.
- Hose disconnects from handle, not the handle from the extension like our Shark. So you have to hold onto the hose instead of having a handle.
For now, we are absolutely satisfied with this Bissel and hope it lasts as long, if not longer, than our Shark.

Before this I had a 40 year old Kirby. I really think this machine is incredible, especially for the price (we got it on sale for around $160, original price was $200-220). I love the versatility! You can turn the brush off and make adjustments for low, medium or plush carpeting. When I want to vacuum my kitchen tile I just turn the brush off and adjust to the lowest carpet setting. I will use a broom to really get stuff from the corners and baseboards out to the middle of the floor first then come through with this puppy. Speaking of puppies.... I have a black lab that sheds like its summer time year-round and two fuzz ball cats. I don't think the carpet has been this clean since we moved in. I have a flight of 13 stairs that are carpeted as well and the attachment for steps works nicely. It has a tough spinning brush on it that pulls hair from the depths. I need to use my hands to brush hair out from the crevice where the steps meet because it does seem to have a hard time getting in there. Works great on the pet beds too. I am extremely happy with this machine. One of the ONLY down sides is that the detachable arm does not shorten or extend so you have a fixed length there. It would help on the steps if I could shorten it. When I first used this machine I had to empty the canister after every room. That's probably a testament to just how bad my old machine was as well as just how good this one is. The canister is on the smaller side so mind the FULL mark and empty often. Clean the removeable filters with soap and water every now and then too. I hated how the house would fill with this gross smell of burnt dog hair, it happens with a lot of cheap or old machines. NO SMELL! And it is pretty darn quiet. My kid and pets no longer run for the hills when I need to vacuum. It is light and very easy to move around (compared to a 35 pound kirby). BISSEL makes their vacuums with pet parents in mind! Obviously this machine is well used because you can see the dust and dirt on it in my pics lol

Item specifications are incorrect. I had a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser with 30 foot cord. Loved it but hated the super short wand option. That ine went out so I went to Best Buy and this was all they had. It specifies for pet and specifically states 30 foot cord but it does not have a 30 foot cord. Its about 5 feet short and therefore will not reqch my entire living room. It does have a nice long wand for the base boards and the ceiling cobwebs but the canister is a bit small in my opinion. The canister also gets hair stuck in there that has to be dug out unlike the Pet Eraser version that does not. I did contact Bissell about the incorrect specifications since i purchased it because of the 30 foot cord but all they said was they escalated the information and will send me a free belt and filter replacement. So really no answer or help and Id rather just return it since the cord wont even cover one whole room. Aside from that is does appear to have noce suction and Ive already stated the wand is nice. The lights are helpful if vacuuming in a darker area but I feel like I can see evwry stuck hair that wont come up also. So good and Bad vacuum really.

This is hands down one of my favorite vaccum cleaners. I clean houses with a variety of pets and it has always held up and does a thorough job. I love the lift off feature that allows you to detach from the bottom of the vaccum. It makes it convenient to carry around the cannister and use the hose to get the hard to reach spots. I also like the cannister feature as I can clean/sanitize between uses at clients homes. Only issue is with the prongs themselves that plug into the outlet they have a tendency to brake easy on their own. That being said the warranty process with bissell was a breeze and they sent me a brand new replacement within the week of filing my claim.

My husband purchased this for me as I didn't feel my older vacuum was doing a good job anymore.
I am a 'clean freak' and, as a result, have owned plenty of vacuums throughout my life (Kirby, Oreck, etc.). Let me tell you, THIS vacuum is the best money ever spent!
The carpet in our apartment was several years old and matted down when we moved in eight years ago. Nothing I've tried made it look much better. Not until this vacuum worked its magic! It agitates while sucking through the carpet, padding and concrete below. Seriously!
The first few times I used it, I was dumb-founded by how much filth was sucked up and I vacuum a LOT. If that weren't enough, this thing also fluffed all the matted pile up again after about the third go round. NO vacuum I've ever used did that!
It's super easy to use and light-weight. I have it set on the lowest carpet pile setting and I have no problem at all maneuvering it anywhere I want it to go. One would think with this level of suction, it would be difficult to push, but rest assured, this is not the case.
If you're 'on the fence', jump off and buy this already!

This vacuum is one of the few left that has a switch to turn OFF the beater bar to protect your hardwood floors from scratching. A must! It also has a lift away feature so you don’t have to carry the entire vacuum to do stairs or high places. The vacuum has great suction and picks up pet hair off carpets and rugs. My old shark could not. It has a great attachment that has a beater brush for stairs, couches, bedspreads, etc. I have 4 cats! My only drawbacks are the vacuum is heavier than I like and when you empty canister you have to open both ends and pull out the pet hair, etc.

If you have furry animals, GET THIS!!!! I have a heeler mix, a heeler, and a Shepard mix. They shed A LOT! On top of that, I have a 3 year old and a fiancé that works in construction. Constant state of dust/dirt/hair.
We have hardwood floors and carpets. I was unbelievably shocked at how much hair/dirt/dust was pulled up. The carpets felt cleaner, smelled nicer and had a fluff back to them. The attachments work great with all that hair and grabbed up so much still. So impressed!!!!
Very easy to empty and put back together. Super light weight and so easy to push too!
Get this vacuum if you have a busy house with a lot of traffic. It’s worth every penny!

Great vaccum for cleanup. A but heavy for kids though. Also the hose is not that long enough. Suction is much better. Another good thing is that it has light and hence the dust n stuff on the floor is obvious.

After reading reviews I couldn’t wait to bust this bad boy out of the box. I went straight to our bedroom carpet where our yellow lab stays. It immediately proved great suction and lightweight maneuvering. It didn’t waste any time getting the nasty dog hair and dust up. I’m so excited to have a great, simple vacuum.

This is the first time I have ever experienced a vac that can turn off the brush’s so not to burn up your belt when vacuuming out a car or not the rug type situations. And it disassembles from the lower half so you can carry it up the stairs when cleaning the staircase.

It's a little more "clumsy" than I'm used to (cord management, rolling resistance, weight) but for the money, it performs well; better than expected. Caught this on sale with total price being under $200.

I've got two aussie dogs, so we are used to floof and lots of dog hair. I cleaned a room with my 6 year old dyson a few days ago. And we have a little roomba that does a daily route. I filled the canister in this vaccuum twice for one room, so it's insane to see how much it picked up that the others didn't. Once you get a room clean, weekly vaccuums will not fill the canister as much. I'm so happy with how much this picks up. it's like magic. Investing in a good vaccuum makes a difference.

I just got this vacuum yesterday because my other vacuum broke. It's so nice! I love the variety of uses it allows. Vacuuming stairs was such a pain before! I like that you can turn the roller brush off if you want, and it turns off if you lock it into upright position. This helps protect your carpet and vacuum from unnecessary wear. The lights and maneuverability are great! Make sure you read the directions, so you can utilize all of the features. The only downside to this vacuum is that that tank has to be emptied more frequently as it's capacity is fairly small, but it is a livable amount in my opinion compared to the benefits.
