The camaras have motion detector. It alerts me when my toddlers moving in their cribs. So it will alert you when your parents wake up at night. I can also speak to them through camaras.

Very feasible.  I used mine to watch chicks hatch.   Another one at daughter's house so when she doesn't answer her phone i can holler at her.   Just push the live view button when you want to talk.

There is a few seconds delay. So you would need to evaluate what that number is to make sure it’s worth it for you.
