• Bob covers my area rugs and transitions well between floorings but if your rug has to much shag he will probably get tangled up.

• This model can go from concrete to rug. However, this model can get hung up on overly long shag carpets.

• It will not work for shag rug if long. Unless you take the brush out

• It will not work on regular carpet effectively, so I assume a shag carpet would not work either. But works Awsome for solid floors
