“Does the Bosch 300 series require a hot water line hookup, or can it be cold water?”

• Your dishes won't get very clean using cold water. You want to use a hot water hookup.

• The install manual says to hook up hot water to the dishwasher.

• From the Bosch website: "Yes, our dishwashers work without hot water and we do recommend connecting the appliance to cold water unless you have an energetically favourable means of generating energy from a suitable installation, e.g. solar heating system with circulation line. Our dishwashers have a heat pump, which regulates the temperature of the water according to the selected programme."
