Try to connect usb plug from you companion to your TV or something else. This Companion Bose system seems to need usb to be plugged even if it's not a pc/mac. I think Bose does not want you to use this system outside pc/mac environment so much that sound is so good/close to Bose home system.

Please try again later.You need to have it hooked up to the input that has the circle with arrow in between also the volume pad is very sensitive.another issue might be is you might have the connectors in wrong place or not fully connected And regarding the tv external speaker don't use just lower tv volume to zero and use Bose volume.
