• depends. You can't plug the ipad on the dock but, you can plug it in with the AUX wire.

• Yes, I have used the iPad with the Bose SoundDock Series III. No problems!

• Hi fernvick, The SoundDock Series III system is compatible with iPods and iPhones which use a Lightning connector. iPads are not compatible with the SoundDock III but can be connected to the AUX input in the rear of the system via a 1/8" audio cable. Thanks for your question.
