Not sure, might put too much stress on the connector. And I doubt that it would be able to charge the iPad. IPhones need .5 amps to charge, iPads need 2.1 amps to charge. You could, and I do, use the auxiliary input with my iPad.

It is not designed for us with iPads. An iPad can be connected via the 3.5mm AUX audio input on the rear of the speaker, however. Thanks!
