• Yes, you should be able to run it off the WIFI with out a cable. I have my router in the family room and one speaker in the living room and another on the patio. Both find the WIFI signal fine.

• The only cable required is the powered cord. It is designed to run directly off your home wifi or from a Bluetooth wireless connection to a smartphone or tablet.
