The Bose 300 has 4K passthru so you can just plug your blu-ray player into it.

If your tv has an HDMI ARC channel and sends it in HI DEF audio then that would work fine to go to the TV and then the soundbar. If your TV does not have ARC or it sends ARC via stereo sound, then you would want to go into the soundbar first

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the tv acts as a switch routing the selected tv hdmi in to its hdmi arc or hdmi out. Connect the hdmi out (arc) on the soundbar to the hdmi arc on the tv OR hdmi in on soundbar to hdmi out on tv if no hdmi arc on tv.
