“I purchased a Bose Soundtouch Soundbar to hook up to a Sanyo 52" TV that is roughly 7 years old. I don't see an HDMI ARC port or an Audio out optical port. anything I can do to hook this up without purchasing a newer TV?”

Use the HDMI IN to get your Set Top box input into the soundbar first, and then use the other HDMI from the soundbar to the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The sound bar has only a single HDMI port. It uses the ARC channel to let the TV switch inputs and feed the TV audio out to the sound bar. If you don’t have a receiver or an ARC connection, you won’t be able to use this system. By the way, I also bought the wireless subwoofer and surround speakers and the system does a surprisingly good job providing a full soundscape. It’s not THX, but for a small room, it’s quite nice.
