• Probably. We use it with a Google Nexus 5 with a Spigen Case. Not as meaty as an Otterbox, but there arms that hold the phone are longer than we require.

• Yes it works perfectly, no issues containing my S5 with Defender case. I've loved mine and will buy again for all my phones.

• I don't see why not. It opens as wide as you would like it to. My boyfriend uses a G3 with a case on his with this & it does great for him driving semis.
