clean the machine and change the 54mm Silicone Steam o-ring - may have gotten a machine with a faulty o-ring seal?

How fresh is the coffee you are using? I only get the appropriate pressure when the coffee is within two weeks from the roast date. I use Lineage Coffee from Winter Park. They have a subscription service and gets shipped to you within a couple days of roasting. You could also try using the double wall filter basket to increase pressure or do a finer grind.
