Do you always run a shot without the filter connected before making your espresso? Sounds like the dispenser might be clogged. Run a few shots without the filter attached and see if that solves your problem.

what i did was setting the duration by taping on the program and start/stop the dripping for 28 second. considering your coffee beans and grind, you can get the best espresso creama within 25-30 seconds.

Marie, you might want to consider reseting the Barista Express to its factory setting.
