Yes, on win10 you tell the computer what printer to find and it downloads the print drivers from the web,,,, I got in a hurry when I 1st bought the printer and did it this with for my 1st set up. Next day used the CDR to load the whole printer/scanner program but I'm sure with a little effort I could have done the same thing to find the scanner drivers as well

Instead go to Brother website download drivers for you model (be sure you are on a brother website or you will be downloading something else.) Just be patient and follow the prompts....easy to follow and it will install perfectly. before you start be sure you know version of windows you have and if its 32 or 64 bit. because it will ask once you start.
