The included toner yielded slightly more than 1,000 pages for me, but that will vary depending on page content.

The starter printer cartridge is just that, a starter. I see that many stores actually have a sign reminding buyers to get more, and sometimes have a box with the display unit as a reminder. Some toner manufactures make an extend use cartridge, which prints many more pages than the bast cartridge, for a slightly higher price.
