• This drive requires 120 VAC power to plug in to. It does come with the required power adapter.

• Sorry to be sarcastic but in my over 40 years in the computer industry I've never seen any peripheral device requiring an AC/DC ower adapter, not come with one that fits the unit, and I can assure you I din't have to go to a Radio Shack, (if there were some anymore), to buy one of their universal adapters to make this work. Yes, it comes with it's own Power adapter since it's not powered thru the USB port.
