Just chatted with canon, they said not to use anything higher than 75lb cardstock.  Unfortunately this is not documented anywhere in the the manual for this printer.

Yes to both. Use the back tray for really heavy cardstock so it runs through the printer without bending and curving as much as when fed through the front tray.
