Do you only cook one type of food at a time or can you do fries and chicken at the same time? null

You can cook different types, however, be aware of their cooking time. The booklet that comes along has a list of times for each food. Also - the basket does not hold a ton of food. You may want to cook separately, then combine for last minute or so.

You can technically cook fries and chicken together but the flavors would intermingle.

If the temperatures and times (for cooking ) are comparable, you can cook multiple items together.

its small not big and does not come with a divider so I really don't recommended.

I have cooked breaded fish and fries at the same time. The fish was frozen tilapia which I allowed to thaw. 
I then seasoned and breaded the fish, put them in the bottom of the fry basket and placed frozen fries right on top.
The fries were done sooner than the fish, so I had to remove the fries and continue cooking the fish. 
I am sure that if you purchased breaded chicken or fish that it would be perfectly fine to cook them at the same time.
