Sorry, No, they do not float. Usually it is the 37-mile version of the walkie-talkies that float because they're often designed for Marine usage on boats. Uniden, Cobra, and Motorola all make a 37-mile version that is waterproof to 3 feet of depth for no longer than 5 minutes because of their gaskets in the radio. Floating/waterproof versions of walkie-talkies usually cost about $100 for a pair of them and are waterproof versions like I mentioned being rated for no deeper than 3 feet under water for no longer than 5 minutes at any time.

I had one large aluminum carabiner and two small aluminum carabiners attached to the walkie-talkie clip and the walkie-talkie floats but the aluminum carabiner does not. I wish they were orange or yellow so you can see them in the water if they fall overboard of a boat, but you won't lose them in the water because they don't sink. They are also waterproof but you don't want to take them very deep underwater. The gaskets aren't rated for much depth of water because of the pressure. Don't fear washing these in a sink either. They handle soap and water just fine.
