• A:Answer Sorry, No, they do not float. Usually it is the 37-mile version of the walkie-talkies that float because they're often designed for Marine usage on boats. Uniden, Cobra, and Motorola all make a 37-mile version that is waterproof to 3 feet of depth for no longer than 5 minutes because of their gaskets in the radio. Floating/waterproof versions of walkie-talkies usually cost about $100 for a pair of them and are waterproof versions like I mentioned being rated for no deeper than 3 feet under water for no longer than 5 minutes at any time.

• A:Answer These should work from a basement to an attic. To be able to get the best distance and clearest communication, it is always best to use them direct line of sight. The more obstructions one radio has to go through to get to another radio can lessen both of these.
