I have my front windshield tinted and it does not affect it at all.

Please try again later.Now the filters in radar detectors are very well it depends on the type of tint and how dark but this is a very powerful detector it will work as it should maybe a little lag on the range but I have had very good luck with it myself in hilly road and I'm impressed.

Please try again later.I have tinted windows and a Cobra RAD450, have had no issues detecting radar, but different tint materials can affect the wavelengths, so it depends on the type of tint on your windows. You can test the effectiveness by finding a radar source and pointing your detector from behind the tinted window and then through an open or un-tinted window, at various distances to determine whether the radar source is picked up consistently.
