Is this a battery backup power source? null

Hi Cindy, yes the Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat has AAA batteries as back up, in case the thermostat cannot get power from your system. If your thermostat is running on batteries only, then you will lose the WiFi capabilities, but you will be able to control the thermostat manually. Thank you for your question and have a great week.
