You have to remove the PS5s cover. But the ssd fits perfectly into the expansion slot. Took me about 5 minutes to install and 3 minutes of that was trying to get the cover off the PS5.

You do have to remove the cover, but you do not have to replace the case. Pop the cover off, slide it into the port, slip the cover back on. Easy-peasy.

You have to remove the cover on the side where to install the frive but as the drive fits perfectly in the bay and the metal plate does screw back on with drive installed you can keep the original case no adjustments are needed. You just need to have the LPX (Low Profile) Model where the geatsink is shorter to fit in PS5 perfectly.

You do have to remove the cover of the PS5 to install the drive. Pretty simple to do and instructions on how to can be found online. Once the cover is off it plugs directly in and you put the cover back on. Took all of about 6 minutes.
