The machine is for exercise, not pain management. I have back issues, but the Cubbii does not bother it at all. It feels great to use, and does not hurt my lower back. Yes, it's definitely helping me lose weight; it is such a great workout if you crank up the resistance. I use resistance at level 7, and I use hand weights to get my arms involved.
