• Yes, but incredibly easy. They have provided everything including a screwdriver. The only 2 pieces is just the right and left petal. I looked on utube to see how it was done because I am not a mechanical person. When I saw how easy it was I ordered one immediately. I was ashamed of myself not just waiting for it to come because it was so incredibly easy. I love it.

• There is very little assembly. There are 2 phillips screws that hold each pedal on. The screwdriver is provided.
