The number 18/10 reflects the composition of the stainless steel not the weight or thickness. 18/10 stainless is generally the highest grade for consumer products. The bottom of the pots/pans are very thick and composed of an aluminum core with stainless on both sides making them quite thick on the bottom but the sides are thinner than some of my other more expensive Cuisinart pots.
