“Looks like the air intake on the front is covered by glass which would cause issues with airflow obviously, is this the case or is that actually mesh and not glass?”

Thank you for reaching out to us John. The case included with this system should have a glass panel at the front. The top of the front panel has a big opening to pull in air to cool down your components.
